Coronavirus: Danger of Hand Sanitzers
4/20/2020 (Permalink)
As we continue to see an influx of dynamic information come across the internet, radio, and television, we are learning that our normal routines and activities may not be so normal.
Experts are warning us to be careful on how we apply our hand sanitzers. Even a good thing can turn into a bad thing very quickly. We are learning this because hand sanitizers are alcohol based. This means that the sanitizer can be flammable, producing a translucent blue flame.
A best practice is to wait a minute for the sanitizer to dry and then wave your hands around to remove any vapors that may be present.
SERVPRO of Lombard/Addison knows that the grilling season is upon us. Let's be careful around the grill and even in our kitchens. We know that you are working hard to stay safe and healthy. Please make sure that your hands are dry after applying hand sanitizer before attempting to light your grill or turning on a gas stove.
