Sewage in a Crawlspace in Villa Park, IL

SERVPRO of Lombard/Addison is ready for anything. We received a call for a home with a significant drain back up in the crawlspace.  The owner of the home was unsure how deep the black water was, but when we arrived on site, we got to work extracting the water immediately. We estimated almost 3,000 gallons of water sitting in there. The ground in the crawlspace was loose dirt and gravel. This is one of the hardest surfaces to dry, but we were up for the challenge. After the water extraction, we employed our powerful fans and dehumidifiers to get to work drying the area. We used a deodorizing antimicrobial product and placed an air scrubber to purify the air because sewage water leaves a terrible smell. The smell had already subsided by the time we went to monitor the drying process the next day. These photos are only 1 day apart. Our drying equipment was there for several more days. Upon completion of the drying and mitigation process, it was "Like it never even happened."
