Fire and Water Clean Up in Oakbrook, IL

This is a classic story of the importance of a sprinkler system. A series of unfortunate events led to the sprinkler system being triggered by a small amount of smoke and a little flame from an artificial tree. The tree caught fire for about a minute which signaled for the sprinkler system to activate. The sprinkler system for the entire building was activated to put out any fire in the entire building allowing about 20 gallons of water per minute to gush out of each sprinkler head. This may seem unnecessary at first due to the small size of the fire. But, with our knowledge and experience, we are confident to say without the sprinkler system, the damage that would have occurred from the fire spreading would have cost triple the amount of money than cleaning up the water damage. Also, SERVPRO of Lombard/Addison was able to have the business up and running again in 3 days since it was mostly water damage and just a small amount of soot and smoke cleaning. If the damage was being cleaned up for predominately smoke and soot damage, then it could have taken up to 4 weeks to get the business operational again.
